Turtle House Seafood Restaurant

4 12 2008

Address: 403 Guillemard Rd, S(399795)
Tel: 6745 1248
Check out the website

theturtlehouse

Price : $25/$30 (Half turtle)
Used this photo (their tissue) instead because my photo of the turtle soup might throw away your appetite. My dad ordered 2 bowls of rice (80 cents each), 1 sambal kangkong ($8), 1 iced chrysanthemum luohan drink ($1.20), 1 iced barley drink ($1.50) and each towel napkins on the table add on 30 cents. Totaled $42.90, no service charge.

Because turtle is rare as compared to the common types of fishes, my advice is not to waste the food if you have already ordered. Drink every drop of soup like I do. Besides that, this herbal soup restaurant also has crocodile soup. I haven’t tried the crocodile soup in this restaurant but I tried before somewhere else. Somehow the meat texture tastes like black chicken but the skin tastes different. It’s hard to distinguish actually especially when the soup base all contained the same kind of herbs and spices.

Fish & Co.

16 09 2007

Fish & Co official website

Location: We had fish & co at IMM. Other places include AMK Hub, Parkway Parade, Centrepoint, Park Mall, Suntec City, Novena Square, Tampines Mall, Bugis Junction, Wheelock Place, The Paragon, Jurong Point Post Office, Changi Airport Terminal 2… anymore?

Mussels… the sauce is so tasty that we kept it for dipping other finger food..

haha not kidding

Seafood platter… recommended for big eater or shared between 2
comes with salad

Our bill is about $25 per person. Visit their website, it rocks like the food! Went with pH3 to IMM, one of the staff is friendly and helpful, there’s actually a PDA passing around for you to give your feedbacks after your hearty meal in the beach-themed restaurant.
Nice food, nice environment!

Bean curd at Short Street

12 08 2007

So far I only visited Rochor Original Beancurd and I find it nice and cheap.

60 cents for a bowl of “tau-hui” 豆花.

Sweetness that is just right, smooth and yummy!!

Hog’s Breath Cafe

2 06 2007

@ Chijmes, VivoCity, Holland Village (Hog’s Breath Cafe in SG/)

hog fish of the day
Ling Rong ordered Fish of the day, Pan Fried Dory Fish with prawns and mashed potato and corn… $26

Hog’s Tex Mex
I ordered Tex-Mex combo… $26
A combo of Grilled Sirloin Steak, Chicken Caesar Wrap and their Hog Tail fries

The potion looks acceptable but when you eat, you will come to realise it’s a lot, eat until very very full. kL who sat at another table, ordered the same dish Tex-Mex, almost can’t finish the plate, we happened to have meals there. Indeed, dedicated to big eaters. The taste does not amaze me but I enjoy eating the curly fries. Whereas for drinks, there is a bar at the side, ranged from wine, beer, corktail, soft drinks to juices.

It’s advisable to go at non-peak hours where the staff are not too busy because there were customers who complained about waiting too long for bills. We went to the Vivo City branch at level 3, near the Pet Safari and Daiso. I find the restaurant very Mexico-style, and that suits the Hog or bull acclaim. By the way, Tuesday happened to be ladies’ night, and all main course are at half-price, hehe $13 for a main course that is super filling.. good to be ladies afterall. We went there on 29th May 2007. Perhaps the promotion already ended, a belated post.
